About Us

Essential Therapeutic care aims to offer safe and therapeutic care at all times. Individualised care is essential in providing quality experience for all young adult; therefore, Essential Therapeutic Care invests in our people and our people ensure our young adults receive the essential therapeutic care they deserve!

When young adult come to live with us, we will set out to care for and respect them. We will help them to recognise their needs and learn better ways to have those needs met. We will support them to learn more about caring for and respecting themselves in all aspects of their lives. 

We will help them to see they deserve a place in society where they can, in turn, care for and respect others.

We aim to provide young adult with the kind of parental support and attention they may have missed, to help them learn about being human, how to understand their emotions and how to better handle the consequences of those emotions. We aim to give them security so they can stay still and actually feel safe for a while, so they can feel cared for without the option of running away from this feeling.

We aim to help them learn about themselves and the choices they can make for their future through everyday relationships with adults and other young adults. We aim to support and build their skills in learning at their school/college so they can gain qualifications and start to believe in their own ability to achieve. We aim to provide all the young adults we care for with the necessary support so that they are ready, willing and prepared for their next future.

To place young adults at the centre of what we do and work together with them in making decisions about their lives 

To be open, honest and genuine about our needs and those of the young adults we care for in a way which each young adult can manage

To pay attention to all the needs of each young adult – health, emotional well-being and education 

To work closely with others caring for our young adults so that moving on from our home is likely to work in the best way it can for their future 

To give our young adults every opportunity to develop a need for learning that remains with them after they leave our home 

To respect the right of each young adults to have their needs met, and at the same time to help them see that other people have the same rights for their needs to be respected 

To work in creative and innovative ways to achieve the best we can for our young adults.

To be as well informed and trained as possible, whatever our job at the home 

To understand how best to build nurturing and caring relationships with young adults who struggle to believe they are worth caring for, or place their trust in others 

To support and care for each other as staff members and model better ways of doing this for our young adults to find hobbies, pastimes and interests that will continue to stimulate our young adults outside our home, and help them see they deserve to be included in everyday activities that other young adults enjoy 

To celebrate and recognise success with our young adults as a result of informal or formal achievement

Focusing on young adult’s outcomes. Essential therapeutic Care will focus its support and care around each young person’s development, education, self-esteem/confidence, health and wellbeing.

Listening to and involving. The individual needs of each young adult will be met listening to and involving them and developing a culture whereby each young adult’s development/learning/care wishes and desires are integrated into their own individual care, education, pathway and development plans. Our carers will be carefully recruited and will be able to develop the trust that ensures the young adult will be

able rely on them to listen to their opinions, views and wishes without being judgmental, to ensure the young adult grows confidence in their own abilities and decisions as growing young adults. 

Management – Essential Therapeutic Care will be managed by highly skilled team. We believe that young adults do better when they have the support of a strong management team around them.
